RYA Start Yachting (Beginners | Practical)

The perfect introduction to sailing. Ideal for complete beginners who've never stepped aboard a yacht. Spend two enjoyable days afloat, getting a real feel for sailing. Gain hands-on sailing experience including steering, sail handling and rope work.


RYA Competent Crew (Beginners | Practical)

Learn the ropes by getting stuck in. The course introduces the absolute beginner to the delights of sailing aboard a yacht. This five-day course is designed to provide aspiring crew members with essential knowledge of yacht sailing and handling. It is also an ideal stepping stone for dinghy sailors to try yachting. By the end of the five days, you'll have gained the competence, confidence and skills to be a valuable member of any crew.


RYA Day Skipper Theory (Beginners)

Learn essential navigation skills, from chartwork to collision regulations, with this practical, entry-level shore-based course. The Day Skipper syllabus equips new skippers with the confidence and knowledge required to plan and safely undertake daytime passages. You'll cover fundamentals such as chartwork, tidal systems, seamanship, meteorology, and collision avoidance, alongside practical guidance on harbour navigation and selecting suitable anchorages.


RYA Day Skipper (Beginners | Practical)

Learn to skipper a yacht with confidence, practice manoeuvres and essential safety techniques. This five-day course is designed to develop and assess your skills as a yacht skipper across a variety of practical scenarios, from anchoring and reefing sails to sailing onto a mooring buoy. This course is the minimum requirement for chartering a yacht.


RYA Coastal / Yachtmaster Theory (Intermediate | Shorebased)

Develop your theory with more advanced traditional and modern navigational techniques and collision regulations. It is aimed at more experienced sailors who are looking to undertake more complex passages perhaps offshore or at night. It's also essential preparation if you're aiming for the RYA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster Offshore practical exams.


RYA Coastal Skipper (Intermediate | Practical)

Set sail further afield, skippering longer passages and developing your skills. This intensive five-day course is designed to build your confidence and competence in planning and undertaking complex coastal journeys, including sailing at night, managing watch-keeping systems and handling demanding scenarios. You'll enhance your abilities as a yachts-person and gain valuable experience to confidently tackle extended voyages.


Mile Builders (Practical)

Gain any missing miles and skippered passages in order to complete the RYA Yachtmater Certificate of Competence. Our experienced instructors provide top-quality training tailored to your needs, ensuring you gain the skills, confidence, and knowledge to excel on the water.


RYA Yachtmater Offshore Prep and Exam (Advanced)

Prepare for your exam with five days on the water, perfecting your skills before the examiner steps onboard. To achieve this qualification, candidates must pass a practical examination demonstrating their skippering skills. Building upon the Coastal Skipper qualification, a Yachtmaster Offshore handles more demanding conditions, longer voyages, and complex scenarios with greater experience, efficiency and confidence.
