Yachtmaster Prep Week & Exam
A seven day course combines five days of intensive training and two days of examination. The training focuses on boat handling skills, navigation, night exercises and emergency drills that are essential for any Yachtmaster. This will prepare you for the Yachtmaster exam that will take place over the weekend. This is conducted by an external examiner appointed by the RYA.
Candidates should ensure they fulfil the YM prerequisites of 50 days, 2,500 miles including at least 5 passages over 60 miles, 2 of which acting as skipper and including 2 overnight passages.

Yachtmaster Coastal/Offshore Theory
Advanced training for more experienced skippers building on the Day Skipper course. This course equips you to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages.” RYA
This intensive course builds on your existing theory knowledge and advances your navigation techniques and abilities to allow you to plan and execute longer offshore passages safely.
The course content includes an in depth understanding of meteorology; weather patterns and predictions using synoptic charts, observations and forecasting, tidal theory, tidal rates and calculating secondary ports, navigating in restricted visibility and course shaping and plotting. The course will also cover the The International Regulations for Prevention of Collision at Sea and safety in detail.
